Abstract

The rights and powers vested in the positions of imamate and caliphate hold profound significance within Islamic jurisprudence, shaping the sociopolitical landscape of Muslim societies. This study delves into the intricate dimensions of these roles, analyzing their respective prerogatives, responsibilities, and historical implications. Through a comprehensive examination of primary sources and scholarly interpretations, the study elucidates the doctrinal foundations governing imamate and caliphate, exploring their evolution across different periods and contexts. Furthermore, it investigates the theoretical frameworks that underpin the allocation of authority and delineate the boundaries of governance within Islamic governance structures. By synthesizing diverse perspectives and engaging with contemporary debates, this research contributes to a nuanced understanding of the dynamic interplay between religious principles and political institutions in Islam.
