Aims, Scope & Objectives

Al-Amīn is a peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary research journal committed to advancing rigorous scholarship and meaningful academic discourse in Islamic Studies and Social Sciences. The journal promotes original research that critically engages with classical Islamic intellectual traditions while addressing contemporary academic, social, legal, cultural, political, educational, and intellectual challenges.

Al-Amīn aims to serve as a credible scholarly platform for the advancement, dissemination, and critical examination of knowledge in Islamic Studies and Social Sciences. It seeks to connect the rich intellectual heritage of Islam with contemporary academic inquiry and to encourage research that is intellectually rigorous, socially relevant, and responsive to emerging scholarly debates.

The journal welcomes interdisciplinary perspectives that explore the relationship between Islamic thought, society, culture, education, law, politics, economics, history, and contemporary social realities.

1. To publish original, evidence-based, and theoretically informed research that makes significant contributions to Islamic Studies and Social Sciences.

2. To promote critical and analytical engagement with the Qur’an, Hadith, Seerah, Islamic law, theology, philosophy, history, ethics, spirituality, and other dimensions of Islamic intellectual heritage.

3. To encourage interdisciplinary research connecting traditional Islamic scholarship with contemporary theories, methodologies, and perspectives in the Social Sciences.

4. To provide a scholarly forum for examining contemporary issues affecting Muslim societies through balanced, evidence-based, and academically rigorous research.

5. To encourage comparative, cross-cultural, and interreligious scholarship that promotes informed academic dialogue and greater intellectual understanding.

6. To uphold high standards of peer review, research integrity, academic quality, transparency, and ethical publishing in accordance with recognized scholarly practices.

Al-Amīn welcomes high-quality scholarly contributions addressing diverse dimensions of Islamic Studies and selected related Social Sciences. The journal embraces both classical and contemporary approaches and particularly encourages research demonstrating originality, methodological soundness, critical analysis, and relevance to current academic discourse.

The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to, the following areas:

The journal also encourages interdisciplinary studies examining the relationship between Islamic thought and contemporary fields including sociology, political science, economics, law, education, history, culture, ethics, and  Social Sciences. The journal also promotes scholarly research in the Social Sciences, particularly studies examining social, cultural, educational, political, economic, and contemporary issues affecting Muslim societies.

Al-Amīn publishes scholarly contributions that demonstrate originality, academic rigor, methodological clarity, and relevance to its stated scope. The journal considers the following types of scholarly contributions:
